Terms of Service

Effective October 17, 2026 · Version 1.1

These terms are the agreement between you and Slow and Steady AS for using Miko. By creating an account or subscribing, you accept them. In short: you pay monthly, you can cancel any time, you have 14 days to change your mind, and your work stays yours.

1. Who we are

Miko is a product of Slow and Steady AS, a Norwegian limited company registered in the Register of Business Enterprises (Foretaksregisteret), org. no. 937 286 120, Svortlandsvegen 65, 5430 Bremnes, Norway. "We" and "us" mean Slow and Steady AS.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

You buy your subscription from Paddle: Paddle.com Market Ltd, or Paddle.com Inc. in the US and Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd in Canada. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. These terms govern your use of Miko. We provide the service, product support and everything about your machine.

2. The service and plans

Miko is a platform for running and managing AI coding agents. Every plan includes a private cloud machine for your agents and the Miko web app, which works on your computer and your phone. Computers you connect yourself stay yours and your responsibility.

  • Guaranteed means your machine always has at least this much, whatever other machines on the server do. We never sell more of it than the server has.
  • Up to means a ceiling, shared with other machines on the server under fair use (section 9). Every plan uses spare CPU on the server for extra speed when it's free.
  • A vCPU is one thread of a 4th Gen AMD EPYC™ (Zen 4) or newer processor. On Cloud plans, every 2 guaranteed vCPUs are one whole physical core, both of its threads, used only by your machine. Disks are NVMe, mirrored and encrypted, with daily encrypted backups kept with a second provider.
  • Every plan includes all of Miko's features. The plans differ only in the size of the machine. How many agents can work at once in your machine depends on its memory and on what they do.
  • When a plan is full, you can join the waitlist. Cloud 64 is limited: you request access, and we invite you when there's room.

The plan details on our pricing page when you subscribe are part of these terms.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18.
  • One person per account, and one account per person. Don't share your account.
  • If you sign up for a company, you confirm that you may bind it, and the company is the customer.
  • Keep your information accurate and your e-mail address current, because important notices go there.
  • You sign in with passkeys. Keep them and your devices safe, and tell us at once if someone else may have access.
  • Where Miko is available: wherever Paddle can sell to you and the law allows it. We can't serve anyone in Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Venezuela, Crimea or the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, in any other country or region Paddle doesn't support, or anyone on an EU, UN, UK, US or Norwegian sanctions list. If a subscription comes from a blocked place, we end it and refund it.

4. Your AI providers

Miko doesn't sell AI. You bring your own subscriptions or API keys, for example for Claude or ChatGPT.

  • You sign in to each provider yourself, inside your machine. Miko never creates provider accounts and never asks for, sees or keeps a readable copy of your provider logins or tokens.
  • We never sell or resell model usage.
  • You must follow each provider's terms, including their usage limits and their rules on how accounts may be used. If you add several accounts, Miko can spread new tasks across the ones you choose. Whether that's allowed is between you and your provider. A running session never switches account.
  • Providers' prices, limits, outages and account decisions are outside our control. You're responsible for what your agents do with the access you give them.

5. Orders, payment and price

  • Subscription: monthly, paid in advance by card through Paddle. It renews automatically until you cancel. A card is required, and there's no free trial.
  • Tax and receipts: Paddle adds VAT or sales tax for your country, shows the total before you pay, and sends a receipt and invoice for every payment. There's no setup fee and there are no other charges. We never send invoices or payment requests ourselves.
  • Launch offer: subscribe to Starter, Cloud 16 or Cloud 32 within 30 days of launch (we publish the exact end date and time here at launch), or by accepting one of your first two waitlist invitations for a place you took by then (the invitation must come within 90 days of launch), and your first month is half price. After that the normal price applies each month until you cancel.
    • Not for Cloud 64, and not for closed-beta testers, also when they later switch to a paid plan. Once per person. Accounts created to use it more than once may be closed, with a refund for the unused days.
    • We e-mail you 10 days before your first renewal at full price. If you upgrade in the first month, you pay the new plan's normal price for the rest of the month, minus what's left of what you paid.
  • Changing plans: an upgrade is charged at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the month, shown before you confirm. The bigger disk is there at once, and the extra memory and CPU apply the next time no agent is working (within 24 hours) or when you restart the machine. An upgrade needs free capacity, and Cloud 64 needs our approval. A downgrade applies at the next renewal, once your data fits the smaller disk.
  • Price changes: we tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies. Where the law requires your consent, we or Paddle will ask for it.

6. Cancellation and export

Cancel any time, without giving a reason: in the app (Settings → Plan → Cancel subscription), on our public Cancel subscription page linked at the bottom of every page (no login needed), by e-mail or phone, or through the link in any e-mail from Paddle or at paddle.net.

You get a written confirmation. Your subscription runs to the end of the paid month and doesn't renew, and until then you can undo the cancellation. If a payment is overdue, it ends at once. Every six months we remind you that your subscription is running and how to cancel it.

When the subscription ends, for any reason:

  • your machine stops, and computers you connected are disconnected from Miko (nothing on them is touched);
  • we keep your data for 30 days and e-mail you before we delete it. Backups are gone within a further 30 days;
  • until then you can export your files from the app or with git or rsync (a stopped machine can be started for export, 2 hours, up to 3 times), or resume with a new subscription. While a payment dispute is open, the machine can't be started for export. After fraud, a ban for breaking these terms or a payment dispute decided in your favour, you can't resume.

You can delete your machine right away, or your whole account. Deleting your account ends the subscription at once, and we delete your data after 7 days instead of 30 (until then you can restore the account). Outside the withdrawal period (section 7) the rest of the month isn't refunded.

7. Your right to withdraw (14 days)

You can withdraw without giving a reason within 14 days of every new subscription (including one you resume) and within 14 days of your first renewal at full price after the launch month. This applies to everyone, including businesses. Asking us to start your machine right away, as you do when you subscribe, doesn't take away this right.

How: click Withdraw from contract here in Settings → Plan or in your subscription confirmation e-mail. If you're a consumer in the EU withdrawing from a first payment, it opens the withdrawal button in Paddle's customer portal, with a link to our own form below it in case you can't find the button. Everyone else goes straight to our short form. On our form, click Confirm withdrawal, and you get an e-mail receipt with the date and time. You can also e-mail or call us.

What you get back: at least a refund for the days you haven't used. We count from the start of the period you withdraw from (for a new subscription, the day your machine was ready), and a started day counts as used. If Paddle's Refund Policy or the law where you live gives you more, you get that. Today, Paddle's Refund Policy gives consumers in the EU, the EEA (including Norway), Switzerland and the UK a full refund of a subscription's first payment.

Then: the subscription ends at once, your machine stops within an hour, and we keep your data for 30 days for export. A launch offer counts as used. The refund goes back to your card through Paddle within 14 days of the day you told us. Other refunds: see our Refund and cancellation policy.

8. Failed payments and payment disputes

If a monthly payment fails, Paddle retries your card and e-mails you. You can update your card in Settings → Plan at any time.

DayWhat happens
0–7Your machine keeps running.
7We stop your machine. Your data is safe. If the payment goes through before day 14, your machine starts again at once.
14If it still hasn't gone through, the subscription ends. The unpaid month is cancelled and never collected later.
44We delete your machine and its data. Until then you can export, or resume with a new subscription.

We tell you before your machine stops and before the subscription ends. Our e-mails only say what happens to your machine. Payment requests come from Paddle.

Payment disputes. Please contact us first, because we fix billing mistakes quickly. If you dispute a payment with your bank, Paddle handles the dispute. While it's open, we stop your machine and delete nothing. If Paddle wins the dispute, your machine can run again until the end of the period you paid for. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the subscription ends and we delete your data 30 days later.

9. Fair use (traffic and CPU)

Miko machines share servers. These rules keep that fair.

Traffic. Each calendar month (UTC) includes 250 GB of traffic on Starter and 1 TB on Cloud plans, counting data in and out. We tell you at 80 %.

  • Above the allowance your machine keeps running, and its connection is slowed to 25 Mbit/s (Starter) or 100 Mbit/s (Cloud) until the 1st of the next month.
  • Above three times the allowance it's slowed to 10 Mbit/s, and we get in touch.
  • We never stop your machine and never bill you for traffic.
  • Backups, restores and moves don't count.

CPU. Every plan has a guaranteed amount of CPU and uses spare CPU on the server for extra speed when it's free. Spare CPU is shared fairly, weighted by plan.

  • A machine that keeps all its vCPUs busy for hours runs at its guaranteed CPU until it calms down.
  • A machine that uses 90 % or more of its plan's CPU ceiling ("up to") on average for four hours runs at its guaranteed CPU until it calms down.
  • In the first few minutes after a start or a move these limits are lifted, a limited number of times a day.
  • If a machine is limited three times in a week, or we limit it after a review, the limit stays until we've looked at it, also through restarts and moves.

Your machine never gets less than its guaranteed CPU, and these rules never stop it. The allowance and the limits follow your subscription, also if you replace your machine.

10. Acceptable use

Don't use Miko, or let your agents use it, to:

  • mine or stake cryptocurrency;
  • run proxies, VPNs or relays for other people, or public file-sharing services;
  • send spam;
  • scan, probe or attack systems without permission, or spread malware;
  • store or share illegal content, or infringe other people's rights;
  • resell, rent out or share your machine, your account or access to AI;
  • get around limits, sanctions, security or isolation, or access other customers' machines;
  • create several accounts to reuse an offer or avoid limits;
  • break the law or harm others.

Testing the security of Miko itself needs our written permission. Report what you find to contact@getmiko.app.

What we do. We check only technical data such as traffic and resource use, never the files in your machine. We respond in proportion: usually a message and time to fix the problem first, then a limit or suspension, and ending the subscription only as a last resort (section 17). Attacks, spam, illegal content and legal orders are handled at once. Report abuse to contact@getmiko.app.

11. Your data

  • What you create and store in your machine is yours. You allow us to store and process it only as needed to run Miko for you.
  • Your machine and its backups are stored in Canada. Paddle processes payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy notice. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, where and why.
  • We don't look at the files in your machine, and we never sell your data.
  • Backups run daily and are encrypted. They are a safety net, not a guarantee, so keep your own copies of anything important, for example in Git.
  • Deletion follows sections 6 and 8. Nothing is deleted while a payment dispute is open.

12. Security

  • Every machine is isolated, with no open ports.
  • The connection between your devices and your machine is end-to-end encrypted.
  • Disks are encrypted.
  • On Cloud plans, your machine's memory is encrypted by the processor (AMD SEV-SNP).

You're responsible for what you install and run in your machine, and for keeping your devices and passkeys secure. If a security incident affects your data, we tell you as the law requires.

13. Availability and changes to the service

  • Self-serve plans (Starter and Cloud) come without an uptime guarantee or SLA. An SLA is available only to Enterprise customers, under a separate written agreement.
  • We work to keep your machine running and fix faults quickly. Maintenance, updates and moves between servers can cause a short pause; we do them at quiet times and tell you in advance when we can.
  • We change Miko only for a valid reason, such as security, the law, new technology or improving the service, and never at extra cost to you. If a change makes the service worse for you in more than a minor way, or we stop offering your plan, we tell you at least 30 days ahead. You can then cancel, up to 30 days after the change, with a refund for unused prepaid time, and export your data.

14. Ownership

Miko's software, apps, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. While you subscribe, you may use them for your own work under these terms. Open-source parts keep their own licences. Your content stays yours. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

15. Liability

  • We provide Miko with reasonable care and skill.
  • If you're a consumer, you have legal rights when a service is faulty, such as a price reduction, cancellation or compensation. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
  • As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses (such as lost profit), for losses caused by AI providers or other third parties we don't use to run Miko, for what your agents do with the access you give them, or for events beyond our reasonable control.
  • If you use Miko for business, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid for Miko in that period, as far as the law allows.
  • None of this limits liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • Other liability terms are available only to Enterprise customers, under a separate written agreement.

16. Changes to these terms

For any change that isn't only in your favour, we e-mail you at least 30 days before it applies, and it applies from your next renewal after that. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then. Changes required by law, or that only clarify or add to your rights, can apply sooner. Earlier versions stay available.

17. When we may suspend or end the service

  • Without a reason: only with at least 30 days' notice, time to export and a refund for unused prepaid time.
  • For a reason: a serious or repeated breach of these terms (especially section 10), fraud, non-payment, a payment dispute decided in your favour (section 8), a refund of your current payment that Paddle makes on its own decision (its Refund Policy then ends access), sanctions or another legal requirement, or a real risk to other customers or our systems.
  • Where we can, we warn you first. We tell you why in writing, and you can object within 14 days.
  • You keep 30 days to export your data, unless the law or the nature of the breach (for example illegal content) prevents it. If we end the subscription because you broke these terms, we refund only what the law requires.

18. Closed beta and early access

Invited testers in our closed beta accept these terms like everyone else. Features labelled beta may change or be removed.

19. Governing law and complaints

  • Norwegian law governs these terms. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
  • Complaints: contact us first (section 20). We reply within one day.
  • Consumers in Norway can ask Forbrukertilsynet for mediation and take the case to Forbrukerklageutvalget. Consumers in the EU can get free help from the European Consumer Centre in their country.
  • Business customers: disputes go to Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett).
  • Payment, invoice and refund questions can also go straight to Paddle at paddle.net.
